Its 10 days past New
Year and I wonder how well you are coping with your new year’s resolutions? Or
are they goals? Does it really matter what we call them? To some extend yes! I
hate making resolutions but this year I did. I am a believer whether goals or
resolutions they have to be SMART: Specific,
Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. After 5 years of no resolutions,
I made my 2014 resolutions … Yes a whooping damn 14 resolutions. So what is the
difference this time round? Nothing much; I just made a resolution to make resolutions.
Why do I have a problem with Resolutions? Resolutions are made at the spark of
some fireworks. No time is taken to think and rethink about what we are
promising to give ourselves into. Now this time round mine were made in the
woods no fireworks!

Now this is the truth; if your resolution does not involve you doing something a little each day forget about it. If it’s not a matter of life and death. Damn …. Forget it too! Oh, is it specific? You want to make money? So how much more are you to make? How are you going to make it …..? Still thinking? You may be running too fast to the wrong direction. Slow down make those goals SMART. This will help you measure your success level! Now sometimes we overestimate our selves …Do not shoot me yet! Its good to set challenging goals but not unattainable goals! You will hate yourself for the rest of your short life! Make attainable and realistic goals.
Now lets say for example: you want to get married to a white guy and you stay around my hood {of course now you know.. Eastlands} How many Njugus do you spot at the jobless corner here? That’s the point …change your coffee dates to Westlands and the likes! Its just common sense!
Finally let your goals be time bound! For how long are you working on this goal? under the fireworks or in the woods like mine! Let’s work to attain them.
Wishing you all the
Best in 2014.
